Is Colin in his last sentance implying that Islam and the Koran can give saving knowledge of God? there is some ambiguity in who is included in "us".

Thank you, Colin for this thoughtful piece of work.

I wonder whether the dignified reaction of the parents of the three muslims killed in Birmingham during the riots might serve to present an alternative face for Islam in the UK. As a priest in a white working class area of the city, a number of folks have commented about how impressed they were.

It does not mean that the fears of many are reduced, but another voice can be presented and embraced.

There is no ambiguity. Colin did not write of Salvation, but "knowledge and experience" and whilst Muslims do  not know God in Christ or his Salvation, they will have, as all human beings do, some limited knowledge and experience of God. See Romans 1.19f.

Our fears of Islam are amply justified by the test of the Koran and the life of Mohammed.

Women Bishops: Church in all its Fullness posted by Bowman

Daniel's exegetical outline below makes more sense of Ephesians 5:21-23 than anything else I've seen posted here. The proposed rings make obvious intuitive sense, though I am still pondering the question what algorithm, if any, could (dis)confirm these intuitions. The rings lead one to see intimacy ...

The meaning of kephale in scripture posted by Bowman

Daniel-- I was hoping for new light on kephale, but did not expect it so soon! Your "B" ring lends support to the view of Secret Villager 4976 below who sees St Paul emphasising the unity of head and body in Ephesians 5. And as I myself note below, the coinherence of the members of the pairs {God : ...
