The Forum Moderators have decided that from now until further notice the Forum will take a break from discussing the gay issue. At times over recent months there have been as many as 4-5 threads on this topic operating simultaneously, rarely breaking new ground, and with more or less the same small group of 'villagers' mostly repeating what's been said ample times before.
Frankly it's become tedious, and the tone has sometimes left something to be desired. Moreover it creates a false impression of Fulcrum as being a single issue organisation. Let me emphasise: this is a temporary break. The advantage of a temporary break is that we are not saying the issue is off limits – just that we need to discuss other things.
There is unlimited scope to work at building God's Kingdom: it seems to me that some of the 'villagers' need to get away from their keyboards and direct more of their energies there.
I am now going to delate a number of posts we have held over pending the discussion about this among the Moderators.

In the newsfeed, a column by Andrew Brown idly speculates about the reasons for the "decline of" the Church of England. If this sort of argument is not merely hateful it is naive. There is "decline in" every great and enduring institution in a living society. People die, needs...
...Faith... unites the soul with Christ as a bride is united with her bridegroom. By this mystery, as the Apostle teaches, Christ and the soul become one flesh [Ephesians 5:31-32]. And if they are one flesh and there is between them a true marriage... it follows that everything they have they hol...
The journey of contemplation needs, I suspect, to keep its feet on the ground. All temptation to assail holy ground over piously and unreflectingly should be resisted. The Book of Ecclesiastes (Koheleth) cuts us down to size.
In Chapter 3:20-2 we read, 'All go to one place; al...
