Pluralist,

You seem to know more about what is happening at Wycliffe and its consequences than your sources indicate.

'Entryism' is perhaps not the best term to describe the attempt by the militant right of anglican evangelicalism to reinforce its position at Wycliffe (it was always there to some extent). However, I was dismayed at what seemed to be an attempt to narrow down the theological focus when Turnbull was appointed.

This comment: http://www.virtueonline.org/portal/modules/news/article.php?storyid=16026#.T7udf4xYupM on the matter does seem to illustrate a core problem with at least some sections of the conservatives. They seem to think that any deviation from the straight and narrow of their interpretative tradition is heretical and to be shunned. It is not unrelated to the frustrations of the 'orthodox' on this forum.

The entryist strategy employed at Wycliffe seems to be at an end.

A very brief note about "decline" in a living society posted by Bowman

In the newsfeed, a column by Andrew Brown idly speculates about the reasons for the "decline of" the Church of England. If this sort of argument is not merely hateful it is naive. There is "decline in" every great and enduring institution in a living society. People die, needs...
