Can the Church of England ‘Agree to Disagree’ on Sexuality without Becoming Theologically Incoherent?

A week is a long time in politics, and it is just as long in church politics and the media coverage of it.Just two weeks after perhaps the most important gathering of the Primates of the Anglican Communion for a decade, almost everyone in the media has moved on, as if there is nothing to see here.

  1. The Church of England is already ‘theologically incoherent’ at a much deeper level than sexuality, marriage, divorce or ministry of women – at the level of Original sin, the holy wrath and just legal condemnation of God, Justification, Good works, Final Judgment, Eternal Punishment. Ian Paul’s comments on the ordination of women are quite superficial – I have set out the case for the ministry of women and against the ordination of women elsewhere on fulcrum.
