Persian woman appointed as first Bishop of Loughborough

Canon Guli Francis-Dehqani currently leads Curate Training in the Diocese of Peterborough. She is also Adviser for Women’s Ministry for the diocese, a Canon at Peterborough Cathedral, and sits on the Church of England’s governing body, the General Synod.

Beer and Theology with Graham Kings and Loretta Minghella, First Church Estates Commissioner (Friday 20th April)

Beer and Theology

In association with The Centre for Theology and Community and the Hurtado Jesuit Centre, this is a chance to get together, have a drink, meet some new faces and talk about theology. It’s 6pm-8pm on Friday 20th April at The Angel (101 Bermondsey Wall East, Rotherhithe, SE16 4NB). We shall be meeting on the ground floor of the pub, for wheelchair access.

The subject will be “Power and Vulnerability”.

Our guest is Loretta Minghella, First Estates Commissioner (CEO) of the Church Commissioners and former head of Christian Aid.

Future dates and speakers:

Fri 25 May, ‘Climate Change’ with David Atkinson, Hon Assistant Bishop, Diocese of Southwark.
Fri 29 June, “Lament” with Simon Stocks, Tutor for Biblical Studies & Director of Reader Training , St Augustine’s College of Theology.
