Fulcrum FAQs

Fulcrum Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Fulcrum?

A point of balance

Fulcrum is a point of balance, aiming to renew the moderate centre of the evangelical Anglican tradition and to generate articulate Anglicanism.

We are also a point of movement, view, controversy, and influence.

What is the point of Fulcrum?

We provide original articles, detailed analysis, reliable news, a virtual library and online discussion.

We hope we are agile in mind, deep in insight, generous in orthodoxy, patient in pressure and delighting in God.

What does 'Renewing the Evangelical Centre' mean?

It deliberately has two meanings: Fulcrum aims to renew the moderate centre of the evangelical tradition in the Church of England and also to renew the centre of the Church of England which is historically, and again currently, evangelical. For further information, click here

Who are on the leadership team of Fulcrum?

See the members of the leadership team.  Former members include Francis Bridger (Founding Chair), Stephen Kuhrt, Tim Dakin, Jody Stowell, Lis Goddard. Tom Wright was our Founding President.

What are the easiest ways to navigate the Fulcrum site?

We have three main categories of posts on the site – articles, Newswatch and other resources.  You can also find a link to the archives of these on the menu at the top of each page.

At the bottom of the home page you can find the latest articles and latest Newswatch listed.

There is a subject index by tags which is found on the right hand side of the main page. Each article also has links to all articles on the same subjects listed as tags at the bottom of the article.

To find other articles by the same author, click on the author’s name at the top of the article or the “View all posts by” link in the bio box at the bottom.  This will take you to a full archive by that author.

You can search the site using the search box on the right hand side of the front page (this can be filtered by categories by using the gear box).

If you want to find articles published on a particular date there is also an Archive by month of publication for all articles at the bottom of the right hand side of the front page

A range of archive links (most recent, by category and by date) can also be found here

Can I contribute to Fulcrum?

All those who are registered and log in (use the Login box on the right hand of the home page to register or to login) can add comments to any Articles, Newswatch or Resources posted.  You do this at the bottom of the relevant post.

We will also soon have Forums where you can start a thread on a subject
